"It was satisfactory and I didn't feel hassled by staff or guests." (108055790)

Trouble-free, clean, comfortable and quiet. Slick, friendly reception. Terrific central, convenient location.

TV in room did not work. Nowadays Text is expected. It was a hot and humid time in Glasgow and the small window was unopenable. Noisy creaky floorboards in places.

"The hotel offered us a central location which was good for us and the event that we were attending." (107118132)

The view in the front if the hotel is very good. The hotel is a very good central location

The state of the shower was awful and the shower area had mould growing in the grout etc. I don't expect to see that when staying in a hotel that charges £70 plus.

"Looks like this hotel builds on its location, would hate to stay in there in winter as only a electric heater in room." (97243711)

Good location, breakfasts were good. Room was cleaned well and bisciuts were replenished.

Room looks like it had not been decorated since the 1960's. outlook was a disused building. TV sat on a cabinet that was lop sided. Reception staff not that helpful

  • 5/10 Penelope (Mature couple)

from Aberdeen , GB on  July 28, 2008

"I feel that tourist form elsewhere seeing this room would have a very poor impression of what Glasgow has to offer. It would not take much to clean to room thorouhly washing the paintowrk and give it a coat of paint. The enitrew hotel seemed tired and grubby. Not impreossive I'm afraid. " (97303854)

check in and out was effected quickly. Breakfast was good.

lighting was poor. Paintwork around the room was dirty and tea had dripped from shelf onto wall and hadn't been cleaned off. Milk was off. Room seemed tired and desperately in need of a refresh.

    "Good" (108035213)

    friendly, central, quiet, clean

old fashioned, a little shabby, needs a make-over. Although we had paid for bed and breakfast, we were unable to get a cooked breakfast as we needed it early and they were unable to deliver before half past eight.

Location of the hotel, helpful staff

Poor choice of food in restaurant, poor condition of soft furnishings, poor bathroom fittings.

The musicians on the streets were too loud, especially the person who played the bagpipes.

Brerakfast was good, although with some unfamiliar items (Scottish menu specialities?) - a description of these would have been helpful, as I notices some American guests looking very suspiciously at certain things on offer." "Felt safe in the hotel as a woman on my own. Desk staff initially helpful on arrival but those on duty over weekend less clued up to advise someone who has never been to Glasgow before. eg. Does the railway station have left luggage facilities? errr I think so. and then recommending a walk far too long to get to it, though it was an easier route to remember. Note this hotel is in a good location but it is pedestrianised so you cannot get a taxi to the door." (99467862)

Decoration and flooring badly needs renewing.

"The general impression was that little or no updating of the hotel had been done for a very long time and as such everything in the bedroom was worn out.. Although it was clean , one still got the impression that it was not. Very unfortunate." (99622970)

The dining room was the acceptable part of the hotel and quite pleasant even though it was dark. Breakfast was good.

The carpets in the bedroom were worn and did not look clean. The bathroom although clean had poor sealant and was very dated. Also paper was coming off the wall and ceiling. There was a general look of neglect.

"I really enjoyed my stay even if it was for one night. It was very easy to get from the airport to the hotel and vice versa. The location was fantastic. The only disadvantage was the noise in the early hours of Sunday morning. I wished that there was double glazing. I will visit this hotel again when I return to Glasgow." (99679201)

It was very central to the city. It was very clean. Breakfast was good as well. Ideal for an overnight stay.

I was at the front of the hotel and it was very noisy in the early hours of Sunday morning. Need double glazing. I had to highlight that my shower didnt work. The on/off switch didnt work - this was recitified. The remote for the TV didnt work and neither did the light above the bed. This wasnt a major probelm for one night.

"The hotel was rundown, the staff were not helpful(although the wait staff in the restaurant were OK). I have made sure that our travel agent never suggests the hotel to any clients. The hotel should be embarrassed to be receiving the money they charge." (99500219)

We chose the hotel for it's location. Unfortunately, it was the wrong choice. The sheets were clean.

The beds were is horrible condition - it would have been more comfortable on the floor, however the floor was dirty. The floor slanted so much (in two directions) that when you changed position in the bed, you were in danger of falling on the floor. There was mold in the bathroom, and the tub was not clean. the room itself was not clean, the glasses in the room had been u sed, the condition of the hotel in general was run down. The lift barely operated (with a shudder and loud noises). the window was broken.
